I find the reaction to Palin, especially among women, to be very interesting. Many disagree with her position on abortion, some vehemently so. Surprisingly, many seem more incensed by her views than McCain's, which as far as I know are about the same. All I can attribute this to is a perceived betrayal of the "sisterhood." And it almost seems beyond politics in that a lot of theoretical conservatives have taken this view.

And the reaction to Palin among democrats is almost comical. Many seem to have forgotten entirely about McCain and are focusing all their attacks on her. And among the posters here on TOTV, the reaction of the lunatic fringe is downright inane. There have been literally scores of attack posts from the same cadre, generally with little or no substance. (I really can't swear to all their content as I've quit reading certain people.)

Personally I'm not sure about the wisdom of choosing Palin. Unlike a lot of people (including an insulting number of women), I have no problem with a female Veep or Prez. I have no problem with her being a mother, even of a special needs child. I'm not sure about her views as I've not heard them all and they do (and should) get subjugated to McCain's. I'm not wild about her experience, but then none of the four have the CV I'd prefer. I'll undoubtedly vote for McCain, primarily due to the alternative, but regardless, I'll withhold judgment on Palin for a bit.
