We also referred to any location north of "The Bronx" as "Upstate". My son is at Cornell and has quickly learned to allow extra time to walk up the big hill to classes because of the black ice.
However, I must admit I do miss the changing seasons and nights by the fireplace in NY.
I still love (and miss) NY ~
