Mahoff: The term used by Philadelphians for anyone in a position of power, authority or prominence. Usually said as a phrase, "big mahoff." She's a big mahoff, so we have to do it her way.

It seems like every Philadelphia native knows it, but few outside the city do. One learns something from nothing every day.
