Google Chrome automatically blocks popups by default, so you shouldn't need any extensions. If you want to block them more aggressively you could go with Adblock Plus, which serves more than a single function. It blocks popups and it blocks (most, but not all) advertising. The caveat there is that it doesn't block ALL advertising, and that on some websites, you can't access the information on the website unless you turn the adblocker off (most online newspapers, and any website behind a paywall, won't function properly or at all if you don't permit them to bypass adblock plus).
