The courthouse is in Bushnell, about 15 miles south of TV. We went on Monday. Turns out it's for Grand Jury which can run up to 6 months. When he came out, Mike was smiling and says that the Judge asked is there any reason why you cannot serve? He tells the judge about my recent medical bouts and my imminent hip surgery -- the judge says "What do you want me to do?" Mike politely says "That's up to you, your Honor". The judge says "well I can see that you really want to serve and I commend you for that. But given your wife's medical conditions, you are dismissed".
As they say in Ohio, Boy Howdy! Nothing like this ever happens to me!

In the 17 years we've been in WA I've been NOTHING but lucky so far. I've only been summoned twice and both times I was able to get excused using the questionnaire alone. Didn't even have to report.
Mrs. K on the other hand seems to get called about every other year. lol
When we lived in the bay area I ended up on a 5 week long capital murder case. After that I do everything in my power to get excused.
