I know parking in the city is very expensive and in the big picture we won't even feel this. I told her that she would have her parking fee covered within the first three minutes of her shift.. But going after your employees to generate extra income is not something I feel is a good practice.

I agree. But I am totally amazed that patients have never had to pay. Even in the suburban hospitals around here, you generally have to pay as a patient. They may have been better off leaving it at that and not penalizing the employees. But if it makes her feel any better, when we recently went into Philadelphia for a doctor's appt we got a steal of a rate at $8.00 for a couple hours in the hospital parking garage. The rates in the surrounding lots were NOTHING less than $15 on up.
