Maybe I am old, but almost everything in the world seems to be under the jurisdiction of the government, except what used to be.....guns, etc. Maybe it is just my old age.

Again, you're venturing into politics..
But yes. I long for the day that sports were sports and not a platform for whatever the cause of the day was. If I want to see activism I'll watch an award show..
