I agree totally with the above. You really should have a car to efficiently run around to get things done, in my opinion. But renting a golf cart is an option. I would not want to pressure myself with trying to buy one in that first week.

We went to Walmart and bought an air mattress, 2 tv tables and 2 folding chairs. For 1 week only it will do. And, they come in handy in the future after you have your real furniture -- or you can resell here on TOTV.
I wouldn't try to buy any furniture at this point -- too much pressure. Why settle for something you don't love? And the consignment shops are hit and miss and don't necessarily deliver on the same day.

You can eat out or get take out food using plastic utensils, go out for morning coffee, etc. plenty of inexpensive chain restaurants. Sufficient for 1 week.
