So, under the category of "things that make you say hmmm" (forgive the ancient Arsenio Hall bit reference); I'm sitting in line at a drive through and see a poster boasting "hand scooped ice cream". Does ice cream taste better, or are the qualities of the ice cream somehow better preserved when the ice cream is scooped out by hand? What are the alternatives to scooping ice cream by hand? Are there ice cream scooping robots out there or unknown patented devices out there that provide other means for scooping the ice cream, yet they somehow rob the ice cream of its taste or texture?
In seriousness, I assume this was just the best way someone could come up with to describe the opposite of soft serve ice cream that is extruded through a machine. Yet it does seem to me like an odd way of making ice cream seem even better, if that's even possible.
Along the same lines, I've seen restaurants brag about "hand breaded chicken tenders". Okay - and that makes them better how?
