I used Small Claims in Florida about 15 years ago over about $800 auto damage caused by an uninsured motorist. The court assigned an arbitrator and I got my money plus court costs.

About 2 years ago, I threatened my former lawn guy with Small Claims over negligent damages to my sliding. It was minor (less than $200) but the lawn guy copped an attitude. Anyway, I did my research and told him he would wind up paying court costs if he didn't fix my damages. He caved.
