I make it a point to do the same. But I am also aware of what is outside of my circle. I am not that ego-centric to believe everyone is like I am, socially, economically, or behaviorally. It's a big world out there. Read about it.

You are obviously having trouble distinguishing exceptions from trends. The world is larger than your circle. Please note that being aware of the outside world is not the same as fearing it.

You are notably quite sensitive to any inference, light-hearted or not, that 20 to 30 year olds are anything but like you and your family. Well, I don't even know you, so there is no way I could have been referring to you. You and your family and all your friends don't make up the majority of the 20-to 30 year old universe. You can be proud and defensive with regard yourself, your family, and your circle of friends. I obviously lit a match under you when I provided a provocative lead-in to get some response to the question:
