The Neoconservatives have been pushing their philosophy for some time. Ronald Reagan and the Bush the first considered them too radical. With Bush 2 they found a weak leader who allowed them to call the shots. Their power is not as great now because of the failed results of their philosophy. They still are a force to be reckoned with. Currently they are pushing for a war with Iran, Pakistan or Russia. A new war will give them the momentum to regain power.
