Having not read the letter that you're are referring to, I will say this. I believe that the longer people live in The Villages, the "less" safely they drive their golf carts. I believe they take more chances, fail to observe traffic control signs more often, make unsafe turns and, yes, speed (a few souped up golf carts). Look at how many people drive with their left knee hanging part or all the way out of the cart cabin. The speed limit on the Morse Blvd bridge into Lake Sumter Landing is 10 miles per hour. Have you EVER seen anybody observe that speed limit on that teeny tiny cart path. I think people believe that carts have the right of way and that they are somehow immune from accidents.
