I left Nevada and some relatives of a neighbor/friend left Hawaii. They wanted to be near their sister-in-law and sister here in the Villages and not for NOTHING. Probably cost-of-living too.

Still love the Reno, Nevada area though but never really liked Las Vegas all that much. Reno is a much tougher town now though.

I usually felt pretty safe in Reno in the 1970s. I did hang around with a rather nasty group of kids when about 12-14 but got away from them by 15. One of them pointed a BB gun at my eye and I convinced him to try to shoot between my finger instead of taking my eye out. I had had no idea that he would point a loaded weapon at me. He missed and put a BB into my left pinky. That kind of made me abandon these "friends" who did other worse stuff to one another.

I found books and Mrs. Barbara Mitchell who got me reading Anna Karenina and many other classics. She was my English teacher at Earl Wooster High School in Reno, NV. Class of 1976. I skipped out of my Senior year in high school by taking correspondence classes from another Reno High School.

My grand niece is graduating from a Reno high school in a few months. Class of 2019!! Very clever girl.
