And that's how fast things can change.

The thing that intrigues me is that Tiger Woods is not only possibly the best golfer who ever lived, he's one of the greatest athletes in any sport. He's up there with Michael Jordan, Wayne Gretsky, Babe Ruth and Tom Brady. Every time he wins, a new record is being set. History is being made.

He is second in majors and second in wins. He has made possibly the greatest comeback from several severe injuries in the history of sports. He has a chance to have the most ever wins and a very outside chance to win the most majors.

If any of the other players win today, and I have nothing against any of them, it's simply another Masters with another winner. It might as well be Patrick Reed winning. No one is going to remember it.

If Tiger wins, it will be like Jack Nicklaus winning in 1986. It will be a record setting win and a win that people will remember forever.

I don't care that he cheated on his wife and I don't care that he didn't smile and got angry when he hit bad shots. I don't care that he was caught on television using a curse word. Not that I condone any of those things, but they really just show that he's human. And as I've pointed out in previous posts, he has done wonders for the game by introducing it people that never had any interest. He's also done a tremendous amount of good with his Tiger Woods Foundation charities. Do those things balance out the bad? I don't know, but as I said, looking at what he has done on the golf course has been remarkable and I'd love to see him continue to rewrite the record books.

I feel privileged to have been alive to watch this great athlete. Those of us that are around my age have gotten a double bonus of witnessing both Jack and Tiger in out lifetimes. No one is ever going to say that about any of the other great players that are in the mix today.
