"Weird" as I described what I had seen to one of the dog park employees about it.
I know they get dogs dropped off there and there are feral cats around but I have never seen a rabbit there since I started going in November of 2006. They opened in 2003.
I use a lot of the Villages' area dog parks as well as some of the fields that serve as one. Heard they are closing the one by Rio Grande pool to extend the air gun shed or something like that. But, I have never seen a rabbit around them. Rabbits are around the Villages' pools though and around our houses.
Doubt if the rabbit will be around long with all the hunting dog breeds around.
