Before you pay to have the sod replaced you need to determine why it died.
Typically there was no soil improvement. They simply laid sod cut from a sod farm on top of existing soil. In most of the villages."soil," means sandy clay with a PH of between 7 and 8.
Have a soil test done. You will likely benefit from adding organic
matter. Far more than you may expect.
Also, you need to know what type of grass you now have.
It has been hot and dry the past month (5/28/2019). If, you have St Augustine and it has gone brown it is DEAD. The Empire Zoysia will go dormant due to lack of water and it will come back.
