Like I said, I know it can be done, I know of two snowbirds that have vehicles registered here and keep the vehicles here.

However, it sounds expensive, and I suspect that many snowbirds in The Villages don't do it. But, I think the DMV answer would be that you need to do it to comply with the registration law.
