So true! When my children were school age in the mid 1970s - 1980s soccer was just getting started through parent groups' efforts. Hard to find a coach who knew anything about it back then.

In Europe during the FIFA World Cup most towns have huge television screens set up in their town squares and the games are on TVs in buildings wherever one goes. Europeans are fanatically passionate about it whereas we are rather ho-hum so the fact that the USA women's team did so incredibly well is phenomenal!
