A pop up is always a good idea. Moving water away from the house is smart. I don’t see many pop ups around. Most don’t know what they are, some are on a tight budget and others don’t care.
As for sinkholes, any subterranean erosion will accelerate a sinkhole. There are ways to predict the likelihood of a sudden collapse sinkhole on your property but that testing (geological survey) is about $10k. And more than one RE agent advised me not to do the test because, “ you may not like what you see and you are required by law to share those results with a future buyer.” When it comes to sinkholes, you take your chances or live somewhere other than central FL.
Getting back to pop ups. If you can spare the couple bucks, do it. If you’re handy, it’s a relatively easy DIY project.
