"Junior" is a liberal Democrat, for sure. But from what I've seen and heard from him, he is an extremely smart, thoughtful and responsible member of the House of Representatives. As he is supposed to do, he is a strong and consistent representative first of residents from his far southside Chicago disrict, and then metropolitan Chicago and the State of Illinois as whole. He has demonstrated on several occasions a willingness to represent his people aggressively, but when the time came to legislate for the good of everyone, he'll make an agreement with his political opposition.
The younger Jackson works had at being a Congressman and spends little time trying to get his face on TV and in the news. You may not agree with his politics, but the U.S. House of Representatives would be a lot better off with 435 Jesse Jackson, Jr.'s representing both Democratic and Republican constitiuencies.
