Really was impressed with Jeff Shaara's The Final Storm about the last campaigns against Japan in WWII. Very tough to read at times at he really shows the horrors of war as seen from the foot soldiers' point of view. The Final Storm (World War II: 1939-1945, #4) by Jeff Shaara
