It sounds like you’re a bit nervous about the hurricane. If you receive the Daily Sun, there is an article on the front page that outlines the ways The Villages works to mitigate excess water. Irma was our first hurricane here, and I read everything I could about getting prepared. Before Irma went through, I read about northbound traffic being just packed with cars, and decided I’d rather ride it out in my home than in my car.

I was absolutely amazed at how much water The Villages was able to successfully manage. There were only a few roads that were impassable. There was a lot of tree debris in the streets, which they were able to get cleared out within a reasonable amount of time, with a few exceptions.

There isn’t much that can be done about wind damage to trees. Ensure all your outside stuff that can be blown about is brought in or secured. Take the precautions mentioned in this thread. Either hunker down or go north. If you’re going north, do it NOW. Don’t wait until Saturday.
