Good Morning Sweet Nothings (the few remaining),

No I have not forsaken you. I have been sans a computer for the past week. OMG -- talk about withdrawal symptoms! I have decided that I would give up my car before my computer! Truly.

My 12 year old MacBook just "died" out of the blue. It's been rough not having it. I knew I was an addict but didn't really appreciate how much I use if for -- EVERYTHING.

The good news is I learned that BEST BUY is now (not sure when it started) an authorized Mac dealer. You can buy a Mac (same price as from Apple) and if you buy the Apple Care (which I would not be without) -- you can get the same service through the Best Buy Geek Squad or you can call Apple as usual. I called Best Buy and Apple (2x each) to verify that there was no difference to Apple if I bought from Best Buy. I am now a happy camper!
