An alternative is to apply dark tinted static cling film to the outside of the top 7or 8” of your windscreen.
Advance Auto sells the material and all you have to do is cut it to size, clean the windscreen, and apply it with the plastic tool supplied. I recall the cost was around $10 or so!
Especially great for early mornings when the sun
is fairly low. The dark tint still allows some light through, so it doesn’t obscure vision.
Installed it about two years ago and it still looks like new!
