Both my neighbor and myself bought Chamberlain openers and are quite happy with these. We did the installations ourselves. In both cases we were able to use the original MVP mountings with slight modifications to the original metal pieces between the opener and the piece on the ceiling. NOTE: while one person can do this it is much easier with 2 people.
My neighbor has upgraded remote controls so the car can open the garage door, I have the simple remote and push button controls. Also, with some care, you can reuse the original wiring for the door sensors.
