Why else would a prominent member of any party jump ship with so much fan fare. How about being loyal to the party (any party) ...have a difference of opinion....in the voting booth do your thing....instead of remaining loyal to help his party....then have a difference of opinion...then vote as one sees fit....
But instead he decided...they decided....to make a National event out of it....just because he doesn't like Palin? Bush? BS!!!!!
He is a politician.....obviously doing what ever is in his best interest....just wait and see.
I guess his military training didn't last very long with him. Me first is a powerful drug.....ask any of the 545 in Washington.
He lays low for years then decides to "come out"....right

I think alot of people these days are having issues with blind party loyalty. A lot of folks prefer to think and act independently, based on their own convictions. Maybe people are "jumping ship" because all of the petty bickering based on party dividing lines. Frankly I can understand it, and value independent thought and action. I also have some difficulty figuring how it is such a crime for him to make a "National event" out of it. His convictions, his beliefs, and he is lucky (?) enough to have a bully pulpit. Whats the problem...it happens on both "sides".
