Frankenstein (1931)

Frankenstein (1931) - Rotten Tomatoes

Very enjoyable. Started out fast and didn't waste time. I always like that about a movie. It actually slowed a bit in the second half, even though overall it's a fairly short movie. Couldn't help but laugh a bit at seeing the wrinkles in the curtains forming the cloudy sky backdrop.

Could be considered a bit thoughtful too. Even though the monster ended up getting a bad brain (sorry if that's a spoiler to anybody), he still seemed like he could have been a good guy if given the chance. But as soon as woke up, the mistreatment started. I felt really sorry for the monster right to the very end.

One last thing, I'm a huge fan of Young Frankenstein. Watching the original Frankenstein made me appreciate both movies more. I had several belly-laugh moments seeing the Frankenstein scenes that inspired the Young Frankenstein scenes. If you like Young Frankenstein and have never watched Frankenstein, I heartily recommend that you do.

PB Rating: 7/10
