Very simple answer -- The Democrats would not be running Barack Obama for President. He would be deemed to be morally unfit (wife/divorce issues), probably incompetent (low graduating rank, crashing planes), dangerous in diplomatic situations (think Krushev and shoe banging). So, how did the Republicans manage to pick McCain, anyway?
