Part of the reason this worked is UF in Orlando is part of the plan and they also have proton radiation there. So that type of radiation is covered as part of the UHC Villages plan. I chose Jacksonville because they had significantly more experience with my type cancer than Orlando. 4500 patients vs under 100 patients. So it is true that Shands is not part of the published plan, don't give up and accept that as a final answer. All of these places have groups that do nothing but work with insurance plans as a patient advocate.
