Tongue in cheek time:

Attend as many free dinners as possible where they are out to sell you annuities, timeshares, hearing aids, cemetery lots, cremations, long term care insurance, sell you life insurance, buy back your life insurance policies at a discount, and so on.

Clip coupons off bonds if you are wealthy, for groceries if you are not. I have read of folks who are so good at using coupons they pay almost nothing for groceries.

Only eat dinner out at 3:00 p.m. to get early bird special prices, use coupons and always ask for senior discounts.

Chat up the checkers in grocery stores to hold up the line so others have to wait longer.

Sit in restaurants for hours after finishing your meal to keep the booth or table from others.

Shop Goodwill, St. Vincent de Paul and other thrift stores, go to garage and yard sales, and buy donated books for $1.00 each at public library sales. Resell what you get for far more on eBay. This is actually great fun!

Sleep late or get up early, your preference.
