THE VILLAGES — Caroline Kennedy, daughter of President John F. Kennedy, will be here Wednesday afternoon to campaign for Sen. Barack Obama’s presidential bid, according to Democratic Party officials.

Kennedy is scheduled to appear at the Savannah Center in The Villages, 545 Buena Vista Boulevard, at 4:45 p.m. Wednesday.

She was one of the first major Democrats to endorse Obama’s presidential bid earlier this year and will be the Party’s second national figure to appear in the area this week.

Sen. Joe Biden, the Democratic vice presidential candidate, will appear Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Dancing Horses Farm, 8711 W. SR 40, in Marion County.

Traditionally, Marion County and The Villages are Republican strongholds but polls indicate that Obama has a chance to win Florida. The race for the state’s 27 electoral votes is a toss-up, according to most polls.
