Cool. I donated in Belmont, CA to impress a woman named Sandy around 1985 and then did it once in Minneapolis when the Resident Assistant at Middlebrook Hall for our Graduate Level students at the U of MN suggested we donate blood. This was around 1989.

Did not donate again until in the Oldsmar/Palm Harbor area of FL at Florida Blood Services around 1997 up to 2011 or so. I house sat for a couple of retired realtors who travelled a lot. So, I often went back to Palm Harbor, FL after we moved to the Villages in 2005 to help them out. Would donate at Florida Blood Services if convenient.

Donated a few times at Life South-- the red, white and blue buses you often see at Walmarts in the Villages.

And also donated blood at Florida Blood Centers. The red and white buses around the Villages and elsewhere.

I started doing platelets after they requested my help because a baby needed AB- platelets and I had those. This was at Florida Blood Centers which merged with Florida Blood Services to become One Blood. And not for NOTHING.

So we sound like we were on the same track. I dislike needles but feel I have a duty to donate because of my rare blood type.
