Michelle Obama was employed at The University of Chicago Medical Center, one of the finest research and teaching hospitals in the U.S. She served as the Vice President of Community and External Affairs for the hospital. As such, she was responsible for community volunteer programs, encouraging hospital employees to volunteer in the community, and to recruit local members of the community to volunteer in the hospital.

If there was an earmark for $1 million to the hospital, that was both a minor ermark as well as a very minor portion of the U of C budget.

"Michelle Obama's hospital"? Hah! You make it sound like she owned the place.
