It's where you check in to start your round of golf. To play on a championship course you make a reservation (teetime) via the computer teetime system. You go to the clubhouse an hour or so before your time and pay. Then you report to the starter shack for the nine on which you will start. If it's an executive course, then there is no club house and you report directly to the starter shack.
