We moved to TVs about 4 years ago. We'd gotten rid of most furniture prior to arriving. Brought a kitchen table, chairs, 2 Lazyboy rockers and our bedroom set. We wound up buying virtually all of the remaining items at estate sales, where you could get thing for roughly 50 cents on a dollar; often times for less. We are quite happy with our purchases. We initially signed up with the web site Estate Sales.net which delivers an email to you each morning with all the estates sales within 10 miles of TVs. It contains a multitude of pictures so you could pick and choose which sales you wished to attend. Sure we saw a lot of things we would never buy, but it became sort of a thing to do on non-golfing mornings. We got to see a number of well outfitted homes, so it gave us a large number of ideas on how to furnish our home. This may be an unconventional way to dress out a home, but we enjoyed the adventure.
