Do you want to wait 2 to 5 days to get an air conditioner repaired when there are at least 6 or so companies in The Villages who will come to your house the same day? According to Clark Howard, the consumer expert, extended warranty companies only pay out about 8 percent of the money they collect in premiums to repair appliances.
Well, Clark Howard needs to update and rethink his position. The extended warranty pays up to $400 for spoiled food from the fridge, they will pay for a refrigerator rental but we have no place to put it, the rental company won't move the old one, and my husband is handicapped and can't move anything. There is not a perfect answer, only one a bit better than the other.
