Nucky you're right about Torsion Springs, but winding them can be dangerous. I tried to do my own, didn't have any problems except when I wound it, the door still wouldn't go up. You have to know how to match it with the other side. So yes, have someone do it! The ones on the sides are simple I always did my own & it only took me about 45 mins. to an hr. to do. But I think those are outdated now & they only put the Torsion Springs in now. You gave them good advice about having someone else do it, it's not cheap to have someone do it because no more time than they put into it fixing it, it's not cheap.
