Even tho I was a
poor girl living in The Projects in Easy NY Brooklyn, I remember having a little doll buggy and a doll (can't remember what kind) and I remember playing with them -- must have been in the 40s.
I didn't have a LOT of toys; there was a record player and some favorite records, a radio that I listened to "Let's Pretend" on Saturday mornings; then in my early teens I also had a bicycle. I never thought of how my parents could
or could not afford those items for me
