I'm surprised you don't have Century Link down there or you're just not considering them. I've had it in my home since it was new, that would be 2011, and it's fiber optic I have no modem. I have a wall jack in the kitchen and plug either the computer or the router directly into the jack. I pay $50 a month for life guaranteed and it's for 100 mpbs. I've had one outage in 9 years, and that was caused by a lightning strike. I called CL, and a tech was here within 2 hours and fixed the problem. The lightning had knocked out the back-up battery in the garage. If you did a search on TOTV you might of read that Comcast was rated worst customer service in America.
