Intubate 2,000 people in our immediate area? You can't be serious. You are talking about the sickest of the sick who will need mechanical ventilation, so if 2,000 people out of say 120,000 need vent support, then probably 90+% of the population would be infected, (just an estimate, don't ask for a citation), making this worse than the bubonic plague of the 1300's
