WHO exactly is at fault here? Those that go, or those that are trying to stay financially sound???
There are villagers who don't cook or are not good cooks, who came to live here partly because of the variety of food available to them that they didn't have to cook themselves.

That is why there are so many places to eat in the Villages and surrounding areas; there are thousands of people who would rather eat out than try to figure out how to bake a chicken for the first time in all their 70+ years of life.

As for your either/or situation - there are plenty of people who are financially sound, who can afford to get take-out from a food truck a couple times a week.

However, there will be 5-10 more people collecting unemployment, applying for welfare checks and food stamps, if that food truck goes out of business due to lack of revenue.

It is not the food truck's responsibility to tell their customers to keep an arm's-length distance from each other in line. It is the customer's responsibility to do that.

That said - it might not be a bad idea if there was a Villages employee whose job it is to hand out numbers for customers (so the customers don't have to cluster around the number table). There's a PA system in the town squares that isn't being used now that the entertainment is shut down. They can use it to announce the next number in line. That way, customers can mill around, keeping their distance from each other but still be in the premises - sit on one of the benches, read a book by the gazebos, stand near the fountain with their spouses..and when their number is called, they go up and place their order without having to push through any lines.

But again, it's not the responsibility of the Villages or the food truck owners to come up with and implement this idea. If you think it's a good idea, maybe you could bring it up to the Villages - or the food truck owner.
