Shower failures- Village problem?
Is there an extensive continuing shower construction problem in the Villages?
Our contractor says he is doing shower rebuilds on houses 1-2 years old south of 466 as well as much of Santo Domingo. Our contractor says many showers are incorrectly built and leads to failures. He was surprised there isn't a class action law suit occuring due to the large number of failures and expensive cost of rebuilds. Is this true? Write back and note if you had shower failure and your village name. Let's see if this is true.
Failure shows up due to moisture under tiles causing mold, grout discoloration, water logged walls near shower, failed tile due to swelled backing boards. The showers are built without proper pan under tile, plugged weep holes, wall boards in contact with floor and other problems. End result is $3,000 repair/rebuild of lower half of shower.
