Another place to look for a cat to adopt is South Lake Animal League (aka The Animal League).
The Animal League - Central Florida Humane Society I have adopted two dogs from them. They are about 13 miles from Leesburg. I know with dogs you get a discount if you are a senior and adopt a senior dog. You could ask if this also applies to cats. Right now with the COVID-19 virus going around they are doing appointments only. So you would need to call to make an appointment. Adoption center location:
