The payment is based on your income as reported in your 2019 tax return and if you haven't filed it goes to your 2018 return. I agree that most of us don't need it and shouldn't get it but I also agree that those that are currently getting government aid should not. Their income hasn't changed, what they made in 2019 is what they make now so their life and budget doesn't change. The 1200 won't make that much of a difference. If someone is working now they shouldn't get it now but there should be a mechanism that if they lose their job as a result of the virus impact they can file and receive it. Let the bashing begin.
