As far as I'm concerned, I've come to the conclusion that the vast majority of it should go toward those who need it the most and whose entire current household income...should not exceed $60K single and $100K total.

What I'm afraid of however, is that those making that amount of money right now may end up losing their jobs permanently and then all bets against us slipping into an actual DEPRESSION...are off.

One thing is for sure though, the biggest beneficiaries of the last 'Great Tax Cut' have the least to worry about...and shouldn't get a damned dime this time around.

While I shouldn't qualify for anything on this new relief bill, if there is a screw up and "they" end up sending me any amount of money...it won't be with me for long.

If you read/hear about someone wandering around grocery stores, handing out Benjamin's (with gloved hands of course) to those appearing to need it the most (and yes, I realize that one can be fooled by appearances)...I say in advance that I don't know anything about it.

I'm with you, ColdNoMore and I find it interesting no discussion on Socialism with this topic. A government handout usually causes a big blowup on this forum and is not favored.

When I first heard about this potential windfall, I thought it would be a good time to buy the bike I was considering. Then I sat back and thought about all those people and their families that just had their livelihood knocked out beneath them. Cornavirus hits and we worry about no toilet paper. Many people have to worry about how to get food on the table and keep roofs over their heads.

There was 3.8m people who filed for unemployment in one week!! At certain points in each of our lives, most of us could have been in their shoes. These people have to worry about money and a pandemic, simultaenously.

Now these government payments may be needed by some here in the Villages, but many of us can survive without it. Most of us should step up and join ColdNoMore in handing out Benjamins in the next few weeks. Seek out your favorite server or retail clerk that has been laid off. See a hard working hero like a nurse or grocery clerk who is risking their health and hand them a bonus. Is the fitness instructor no longer able to help you...maybe help them. There are any number of ways. You can always give it to a foodbank or similar place of assistance, but in this time, maybe direct assistance will better benefit an individual.

Anyhow...keep safe. We will get through this if we help each other, but it will take a bit to get back to normal or at least the new normal.
