BTW, according to the U.S. Small Business Administration, a common misconception about the U.S. economy is that is dominated by huge corporations. Small business makes up roughly 99 percent of all independent enterprises in the country. Small business are defined as those that employ fewer than 500 people. This means small businesses technically dominate the markets in the United States, accounting for 52 percent of all workers.

Find ways to help the true backbone of this country.
Exactly. The point of a STIMULUS check is to SPEND the money. Not save it, not keep it, not invest it. The point of stimulus funds is to re-circulate the economy. Get the money flowing, not just sitting in one spot or building up in investments and stocks.

If you want to support your local bike shop, then BUY that bike. That is what this money is for.

If you want to enjoy take-out every day for the next month, PERFECT. That is exactly what this money is for.

If you want to pay a phone bill so that you can afford to indulge in some new clothes purchased from your local boutique (delivered, of course, since the store is closed) then go for it. That's what the money is for.

So you can support these shops that you love so much, and keep them in business by BUYING from them.
