The failure to shut down religious services is a big mistake. There are already
multiple case reports where attendance at a religious event was a trigger for a localized outbreak. There was an pentacostal
minister in Florida who was cited for keeping his church open last Sunday.
I do not understand this exception to what needs to happen. There are ways to worship that do not require spreading disease. If the Catholic Church in Italy can shut down mass and the Pope speak to an empty St Peter's Square, surely the local church on every corner can do the same.
