This is what "they " call reductio ad absurdum. That means lumping all examples into one giant bunch...AS IF they are all equally true. In effect, that makes a person's argument ridiculous (able to be ridiculed, made fun of, placed below other more meaningful ideas.) Plus it is usually meant to STOP discussion dead in its tracks.
