Really dislike the theory that we live in the United States and we have so many rights and privileges that Nobody is allowed to tell us what to do,
even those who have the same rights.
When YOUR freedoms (choosing not to heed the stay-home requests, choosing not to wear a mask that will significantly protect others from you IF you don't know you have the virus already) STEPS on others' similar freedoms, and no one can say anything to you-- you are feeding the snake of anarchy. If you can say or do anything you want, and others can do the same, and we go about
doing exactly that... we won't have much of a country left to live for or in.
I am ashamed to say that I live in an area with so many people who are willing to be anarchists in their country by not taking seriously the FACT that their actions and attitudes WILL hurt other people.
John Donne, an English poet, wrote the following:
No man is an island entire of itself;
every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main;
if a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe is the less,
as well as if a promontory were,
as well as any manner of thy friends or of thine own were;
any man's death diminishes me,
because I am involved in mankind.
And therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls;
it tolls for thee.
